ReptiBase (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a reptile care tracking application that helps users record and manage reptile-related information including animal records, feeding logs, weight logs, notes, photos, schedules, and QR/public profile features.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:
  • Email address
  • Login provider information (such as Google or Apple account identifiers if you choose Google or Apple sign-in)
We use this information to create and manage your account.

Reptile and Care Data

You may choose to provide:
  • Animal names
  • Species
  • Sex
  • Hatch date
  • Weight information
  • Feeding records
  • Notes
  • Schedules and reminders
  • Space/group organization
  • Photos and related records
This information is used to provide core app functionality.

Photos and Media

If you upload animal photos, those files may be stored and displayed within your account and on public animal profile pages that you choose to share.

Public Profiles and QR Codes

ReptiBase may allow animal profiles to be shared through QR codes or public links. Anyone with access to the link or QR code may be able to view information displayed on that profile. Please avoid placing sensitive personal information inside publicly shared animal records.

Device, Usage, and Diagnostic Information

We may collect limited technical information including:
  • Device type
  • Browser/app environment
  • Error logs
  • Crash reports
  • Diagnostic information
  • Basic usage information
We may use monitoring tools such as Sentry to improve reliability and fix issues.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:
  • Provide and maintain ReptiBase
  • Save and organize reptile records
  • Support feeding, weight, notes, photos, schedules, and QR features
  • Improve reliability and performance
  • Detect, investigate, and fix bugs
  • Respond to support requests
  • Protect users and prevent misuse

We may analyze reptile care information in aggregated and anonymized form to:

  • Improve app functionality
  • Identify general care trends
  • Develop future features
  • Provide insights and recommendations
  • Support future analytics and AI-based care guidance

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

ReptiBase may use third-party services including:
  • Supabase (authentication, database, file storage)
  • Sign in with Apple
  • Google Sign-In
  • Sentry (error monitoring)
  • Vercel and related infrastructure services
  • Apple services where applicable
These providers may process information as needed to provide their services.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only:
  • With service providers operating the app
  • When required by law
  • To protect security, safety, or legal rights
  • When users intentionally share information through public profiles or QR links

5. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable security measures to protect information. However, no transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining account security.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep information while accounts remain active or as needed to provide services. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Account deletion permanently removes your account and all associated data, including animal records, feeding logs, weight logs, notes, photos, calendar items, breeding data, and settings. Certain information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or legal records.

7. User Choices

Users may:
  • Edit or delete animal records
  • Remove uploaded photos
  • Decide what information to share publicly
  • Delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account

8. Children's Privacy

ReptiBase is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. International Users

Information may be processed in countries different from the country of residence of the user. By using ReptiBase, users understand and agree to such processing.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date.
